Criteria for eligibility
Studies: Minimum high school education (high school graduate - 12th grade with or without a baccalaureate diploma).
Minimum age: 18 years old.Medical and psychological requirements: A medical and psychological evaluation is mandatory to demonstrate that a person is fit for the Wagon Inspector position.
Responsibility and attention: Skills in concentration, analytical thinking, and the ability to make rapid decisions in critical situations.

The total duration of the qualification program is 1156 hours, approximately 29 weeks.
The program is structured into modules of:
- theoretical training,
- practical training,
- production internship.
What will a wagon inspector learn?
Theory:
- General knowledge about railway infrastructure.
- Types of railway rolling stock. Structure and components of wagons (bogies, axles, brakes, etc.).
- Railway safety regulations and standards.
- Types of defects and technical evaluation criteria.
- Inspection and preventive maintenance procedures.
Practice:
- Technical inspection of freight and passenger wagons.
- Identification and treatment of defects.
- Verification of braking systems and other equipment.
- Practical applications in railway stations under the supervision of authorized personnel.
Career stages of a wagon inspector:
- Completion of theoretical and practical courses.
- Examination to obtain the qualification certificate.
- Production internship under the supervision of authorized personnel.
- Obtaining the authorization for the position, issued by the Romanian Railway Safety Authority (ASFR).
